Never Give Up Hope: Missing Cat Reunited with Owner After 4 Years!

A Pet Owner's Worst Nightmare...

I can’t imagine being separated from my cats and not knowing if they’re safe, sound, and being cared for. Unfortunately, this is the heartbreaking reality for more than 1 out of 3 pets in their lifetime, as estimated by the American Humane Association. Furthermore, only 2% of cats were found to be reunited with their owners in the most recent studies. That’s what makes Sid’s story truly incredible, as he was reunited with his person 4 years after initially going missing.

Sid: The Missing Cat Reunited with his Owner after 4 Years!

Sid, a grey and white male cat, is crossing a gap of over 1,000 miles and reuniting with his person after being caught in a trap meant for another feral cat in the area. After Teller County Regional Animal (TCRAS) realized they had captured Sid instead, they scanned his microchip and contacted his owner. His owner, who after years of searching for Sid, had kept his contact information current. He relocated from Colorado to Texas for school, a distance of over 1,000 miles. However, upon getting the call, Sid’s incredulous owner made the trek to reunite with his long-lost friend, overjoyed to see him safe and much bigger than he remembered!
